{"id":1157,"date":"2017-09-14T09:42:08","date_gmt":"2017-09-14T09:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sharecare.nu\/?p=1157"},"modified":"2017-09-14T09:44:50","modified_gmt":"2017-09-14T09:44:50","slug":"bruxelles-x-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.formidlingsnet.dk\/sharecare\/bruxelles-x-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Brussels x 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Sharing is Caring \u2013 Brussels Extension<\/h1>\n<h1><strong>Opening up with Wikimedia<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Sharing is Caring is a conference platform focused on collaboration and sharing in the cultural heritage sector, bringing together practitioners, researchers, and users of culture.<\/p>\n<p>In analogy to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=d0NHOpeczUU\">the TED conferences and local TEDx extensions<\/a>, the format is spreading from the core-event in Denmark to other countries, where local extensions address the topics that are close to their heart and their community.<\/p>\n<p>After the first extension in Hamburg, <a href=\"https:\/\/be.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/Wikimedia_Belgium\">Wikimedia Belgium<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/packed.be\/\">PACKED vzw Centre of Expertise in Digital Heritage <\/a>are proud to announce <strong>\u2018Sharing is Caring \u2013 Brussels Extension: Opening up with Wikimedia\u2019<\/strong> on<strong> 20 June<\/strong> at the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kikirpa.be\/\">Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage Brussels<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u2019 Sharing is Caring \u2013 Brussels extension\u2019 conference introduces the Belgian heritage sector to the possible applications of the various Wikimedia platforms for opening up digital collections. She is an experienced information manager who has worked in the university and museum world in Belgium and the Netherlands. In 2016 she became the head of a new department called Research Services in which the Rijksmuseum Research Library, the collection information department, collection IT and the reading and study rooms will work more closely together. Bert has worked a.o. for Amsab (Institute for Social History, Ghent) as researcher in the European project HOPE, for MovE (cultural heritage aggregator of the province of East-Flanders) and for the NAI \u2013 Netherlands Architecture Institute as a collection registrar. Bert holds a master\u2019s degree in art history and a master\u2019s degree in conservation. Together with the Open Vlacc catalogers she keeps the library classification systems up-to-date and looks for the most relevant keywords, themes and genres to make the content of the public libraries available. The catalogues of the Flemish public libraries are enriched by information about authors from Wikipedia.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1058\" src=\"http:\/\/sharecare.nu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/05\/Wikiman\u00eda_2015_-_Day_3_58-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<h1>Sandra Fauconnier<\/h1>\n<p>Sandra Fauconnier (BE\/NL, 1973) is an art historian with a particular interest in new technologies. She wrote her master\u2019s dissertation about internet art (1997) and has been active as projectmanager and producer of internet- and videoprojects in the cultural sector for over 15 years. Since October 1994 she works as researcher in the department Laboratories of the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK IRPA), Brussels. He has been involved with making available the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gahetna.nl\/opendata\">collection data of the National Archive as open data<\/a>. In 2013 in a collaboration between the National Archive and the Royal Library of the Netherlands, he accompanied the Wikimedian in Residence-project. (Olaf) Janssen (Dongen, 1973) studied astronomy in Leiden and has been active in the library and heritage field since 2001. He is co-founder of The European Library and a pioneer at <em>Europeana<\/em>, the European Union cultural heritage platform. He is currently working on\u00a0 Open Data &amp; Wikimedia-coordination at the National Library of the Netherlands (KB) in The Hague. He stimulates and facilitates activities that open collections, knowledge, data and bring the staff at the KB and the projects of the Wikimedia movement, such as Wikipedia, together.
