Melanie Imming

FAIR- Findable

As an independent consultant with a strong international network, Melanie Imming is involved in different expert groups and networks on topics like FAIR data, often for for SURF, the Netherlands’ infrastructure provider for research. She leads the project Accelerate Open Science within the framework of the Dutch National Platform Open Science, and recently she co-authored the report Data Stewardship on the map; A study of tasks and roles in Dutch Research Institutes. In 2018 she authored the report FAIR Data Advanced Use Cases: from principles to practice in the Netherlands.

Previously, Melanie was involved in over 15 European projects like the EOSCpilot, EUDAT and Openaire as Head of international projects for LIBER Europe and Senior Project Manager for the National Library of the Netherlands. Melanie has a MA in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam.

On Friday November 22 2019 the Rijksmuseum will host the Sharing is Caring X Conference in Amsterdam. A first draft of the programme and more information about registration and how to submit a lightning talk can be found on the Rijksmuseum website.

We are pleased to announce that the programme will include a presentation by Prof. dr. Erma Hermens, Rijksmuseum Professor of Studio Practice and Technical Art History, University of Amsterdam (UvA). She will talk about the Technical Art History Research. Her presentation will be followed by a private tour – after closing time – of the restoration and scanning of the Night Watch in the Gallery of Honour.

Note that we have extended the deadline to submit the abstracts for a 5 minute lightning talk till October 20 2019.

Early bird tickets (EUR 70,00) are available until October 27 2019. Regular fee ticket (after October 27 2019): EUR 100,00. Limited number of student fee tickets: EUR 35,00.

Amsterdam X 2019 Registration is now open

The aim of the one-day conference Sharing is Caring X Amsterdam on Friday 22 November 2019 is to exchange ideas and best practices among heritage institutions that have opened up their digital collection content or want to do so in the future.

The main topic will be expanding open collection data, addressing the next challenges for museums in making findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable the full context of collection objects, with a focus on research data.

The programme will include a wide variety of presentations and lightning talks given by national and international experts. The conference is a forum not only for correspondent presentations but first and foremost for discussions and meet up with colleagues.

The conference will take place in the auditorium of the Rijksmuseum located at Museumstraat 1 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
