Some of the keywords in museum discussions in Denmark at the moment are “participation” and “relevancy”. How does that reflect in our exhibitions? Are Danish exhibitions more or less relevant, engaging and participatory than exhibitions in, say, the UK? We have asked two of our international speakers, Bernadette Lynch and Alex Burch to visit a number of Danish museums and evaluate them. Are we, perhaps, conservative in the way we set about our exhibition practice? Or have we managed to combine professional expertise with visitor engagement? What is the state of exhibition-making in Danish museums at the present?
